The Makowski Brothers · Wisconsin Dells

Rooted in the Dells. Led by nature.

Adam, Rich and Dave Makowski grew up in the Waterpark Capital of the World. Today they’re building a different kind of Dells destination, one with nature at the center.

The Brothers

Three brothers. One complementary team.

Immigrating to the Dells from Poland, the brothers’ parents were drawn by the area’s natural beauty and a dream to own their own business.

Adam, Rich and David built on their parents’ dream to own a business and began exploring what a Dells destination would look like if it were built around the rivers, lakes and forests that first drew people here in the first place. They named the answer “Natura” — Polish for “nature.”

Today the family portfolio includes a water & adventure park as well as resorts and restaurants.

How They Build

Test it small. Prove it. Then scale.

The brothers don’t follow the Dells playbook. They solve problems — then scale what works.

01 · Reinvent

Breathe new life into what exists

Legacy family properties were renovated and reimagined as Natura Treescape, Natura Vue and Natura Beach resorts.

02 · Test

Try a new idea at home first

In 2018 they broke ground on a naturally filtered lagoon at Treescape, cleaned by plants, rock, fish and beneficial bacteria instead of chemicals.

03 · Scale

Build it at world-record size

Land of Natura opened in 2023 around Lake Wisconsin Dells, the world’s largest naturally filtered man-made lake, home to America’s largest inflatable water park.

04 · Keep building

Add something new every season

2026 brought a chemical-free splash pad, a new wave slide and EV trail rentals, plus North America’s longest suspended tree canopy walk already in place.
